The ZXUY 1 X Pattern Notcher is a tool that is primarily designed for pattern making. It takes a slice of about 1/8" wide by about 3/8" long, more like an elongated skinny 'U'. The notcher should be used on paper only, any attempt to notch fabric would dull the notcher. The spring is a little wonky but otherwise works well and produces a nice 1/4-inch notch. It is useful to apply on paper for pattern making. Customer Experience: Works well for paper patterns, easy to use and apply, and great for pattern making. Some customers have used it for lightweight fabric to wool, but others have noted that it only works for a single layer of fabric. One customer found it to be useless and unable to produce a clean notch, while another found it to be the perfect tool and a welcome addition to their bag making toolset.
