Can the Akimbo2 be used for both climbing and descending?

Yes, the Akimbo2 is designed specifically for both climbing and descending. Its two-way functionality provides climbers with the ability to ascend or descend efficiently, which is crucial during extended climbs or when setting up complex rigging systems. It’s perfect for applications such as arborist work, where continuous movement along the rope is necessary for tree maintenance or inspection.

What materials are used in the construction of the Akimbo2?

The Akimbo2 is constructed from high-strength aluminum, ensuring durability without adding significant weight. This material choice provides a robust structure that withstands the rigors of professional climbing. Additionally, its components are designed to resist wear and tear, making it suitable for demanding environments like tree climbing or industrial applications where reliability is essential.

The Akimbo2 has a weight rating that accommodates a wide range of users, generally supporting climbers weighing up to 250 pounds. This makes it suitable for most adult climbers engaged in recreational or professional climbing activities. It’s essential for users to verify their weight against the system’s total load, including any gear, to ensure optimal safety and performance during climbs.
