It is recommended to have two people when using it for the first time, one person pulling the rake and the other watching to judge its performance. The tines are directional, and it is crucial to install them properly and set the arms one way to sweep up or the other way for just dethatching. The lever can adjust the rough drop level, while the threaded rod can adjust the right amount of drag. The reviewer also added a neoprene 1/2" spacer between the hitch and the rake to adjust the angle when it pulls on an ATV or lawn mower. Some Cons noted were that it is not for dethatching and should only be used to rake up yesterday's lawn clippings if you mow less than 3.25". It is also not suitable for yards with pine trees with lots of needles and pine cones, which can bind the wheels up on the rake. One reviewer wished the rake was made out of a better grade of steel because the main axle arm bent, and another reviewer suggested adding weight to the frame to keep it from bouncing in a rough yard.
